“For ‘by the sacrament of Confirmation, (the baptized) are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.’”
Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1285
Confirmation is a part of the Youth Ministry. For information on Confirmation meeting dates, visit the Youth Ministry website.
Catholic adults who are active in practicing their faith but have never received the Sacrament of Confirmation are encouraged to do so. The formation process focuses on those who are ready, through maturity and a change of heart, to respond more deeply to God’s invitation of love.
Unlike adolescent Confirmation, adult Confirmation formation attempts to integrate more fully the richness of their life experiences by helping them to listen and reflect on how God has faithfully walked with them on their life’s journey. For some adults, this might be at age 20, for others it might be at age 60.
