It is the desire of every parent to see their children grow to be fulfilled, happy and successful in life. True fulfillment, happiness and success are firmly rooted in discovering and embracing God's will. The greatest gift a parent can offer is encouragement and support for this journey.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church recognizes the vital role of parents in vocation promotion. It says, "Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God," (CCC, 2226) and "they should encourage them in the vocation which is proper to each child, fostering with special care any religious vocation," (CCC, 1656)
While each child and family is unique, many experience common questions and concerns regarding vocations, particularly those of priesthood and consecrated life. It is our hope that the materials offered here will assist you in your privileged role as parents.
