Daily Virtue Renewal (DVR)
Use this script to guide a DVR conversation with someone on the phone or in-person as encouragement to live virtuously today:
- Start with the Sign of the Cross and the Hail Mary prayer.
- Are you willing to surrender your will and to cooperate with the grace of God to live virtuously today?
- What are you feeling right now and why?
- What struggles and fruits did you experience in striving to live virtuously during the last 24 hours?
- What struggles might you experience in striving to live virtuously during the next 24 hours, and how do you plan to respond?
- What are you grateful for?
- Pray the Lord’s Prayer or St. Michael the Archangel prayer, then finish with the Sign of the Cross.

Hail Mary Prayer
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
St. Michael the Archangel Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
