The Rosary is rooted in early Christian prayer traditions, and the Our Lady of Fatima encouraged praying the Rosary daily for peace in the world. Pope St. John Paul II suggested praying the 4 sets of mysteries as follows: the JOYFUL mysteries on Mondays and Saturdays, the LUMINOUS mysteries on Thursdays, the SORROWFUL mysteries on Tuesdays and Fridays, and the GLORIOUS mysteries on Wednesdays and Sundays (with the exception of praying the JOYFUL mysteries on Sundays during Advent and Christmas and the SORROWFUL mysteries on Sundays during Lent).
When the Rosary is prayed during ARMOR weekly meetings, the 4 sets of mysteries are prayed as follows: the JOYFUL mysteries at 1st meeting of the month, the SORROWFUL mysteries at the 2nd, the GLORIOUS mysteries at the 3rd, the LUMINOUS mysteries at the 4th, and the SORROWFUL mysteries at the 5th (if applicable). 7. Pray The Salve Regina after the last decade.
All: Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
8. Pray the closing prayer.
Leader: Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
All: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Leader: Let us pray.
All: O God, whose Only Begotten Son, by his life, Death, and Resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech thee, that while meditating upon the mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
9. Pray the Memorare.
All: Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
10. Pray the St. Joseph Prayer.
All: To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our tribulation, and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke your patronage also. Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood, and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities. O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be kind to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness. As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God's Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your aid, we may be able to live piously, to die in holiness, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. Amen.
