Construction Updates

We received the final building permit from Harris County this past week. As always it was a red tape nightmare deal-ing with the county requirements, but thanks be to God it is in hand and we can proceed without further delay. As you can see the old asphalt parking lot across from the side entrance to the church has been demolished.

The bulldozers were here early last Monday and it was all but gone by Tuesday afternoon. That’s the first step in preparing the foundation for the new Parish Life Center. Earthwork will continue on the site to get the building pad ready for the foundation. Work is continuing on the underground utilities and the excavation of the detention pond on the back por-tion of the property.

When that is finished the county has to again sign-off on it, but we don’t anticipate any major prob-lems (I realize those are famous last words but we’ll see!). We’re planning for a major a groundbreaking date in Febru-ary. We are ironing out the details so stay tuned. It’s excit-ing to see it all start coming together!
