Throughout the summer months, many couples have come to Christ the Redeemer to give themselves to each other in marriage. In the presence of the faith community, their family, the priest or deacon who serve as the official witness for the church, these couples call upon God to unite them as one for the rest of their lives. This is becoming increasingly counter-cultural! Despite all the struggles and controversy we face today, we see Christ’s Love made visible when two people join with God to give themselves to each other in love without conditions.
Many of us have experienced this moment when we vow, for better or worse, in sickness or health, whether rich or poor, to faithfully love the one to whom God has united us. When the divine and the human merge, a beautiful new seed of love is planted in our hearts.
So, what happens next? That seed of love needs to be nurtured, fed and watered so that it will take root and grow strong and healthy. Our Catholic Christian community IS that rich and fertile soil where the seed of God’s love can take root and be fed, nurtured and strengthened.
The “Together in Holiness Formation Series” consists of forming circles of three to five couples that meet once a month to pray together, view a short video, share group discussion, and then close in prayer. Each group will have a Host Couple that is familiar with the topic and material so they can facilitate the discuss among the couples.
The 1st. topic of the series is “Family, A Domestic Church”. We want to invite our newly married couples to join with other couples to form a supportive community where they can share and discover new and exciting ways to put their faith into practice opening themselves to the creative energy of the Holy Spirit.
For this first year we plan to begin the series by forming virtual “Together in Holiness” circles of couples. Our first step is to invite you to consider becoming a Host Couple. You will have access to viewing all videos and support material to host your group through online resources. Please pray about serving as a Host Couple. To learn more about this wonderful opportunity to grow in your own marriage and family, while supporting other couples right from your own home, please open the below information flyers.
If you would like to serve as a Host Couple,
please complete the application which will automatically be submitted to John Paul II Foundation.
You can also email me at [email protected] for more information.
Take advantage of this opportunity to bond together to strengthen and support our newly married couples. The future of family life depends on it. In the hope that you will consider making “Together in Holiness Formation Series” an important part of your plan for spiritual growth in your marriage, I remain…
Peace Be with You,
