Beginning in early May, renovations begin on the current
Youth Ministry suite. The space will be transformed during the summer months into classrooms, and meeting and lab spaces
for
Christ the Redeemer Catholic School.
In anticipation of the renovations, the Youth Ministry Office is now on the second floor of the Parish Office. The Youth Ministry (CtRYM) team will still have the same phone numbers and
Rise and
Encounter will continue to meet in the Parish Hall. All other meetings, including the confirmation interviews, will be conducted in the Parish Office.
Rachel Smyth, director of Youth Evangelization and Catechesis, said CtRYM plans to be in the Parish Hall for about 15-18 months and are already getting settled.
“I’m excited that our team has the opportunity to bond in our new office,” she said. “We’ve decided to call it the ‘War Room’ since all four of us will be in there.”
Smyth said the team is really excited for the possibilities that the new building and youth room will offer.
“We’ll have a greater ability to play games in the new gym, have an auditorium for our meetings, and a new youth room with more usable space to run retreats, parties and whatever else we can dream up. I can’t wait for our teens to see how much this parish believes in them, not only as the future of the Church, but the current Church.”
She also commented on the enthusiasm of the youth.
“The teens are really excited to have a space to play dodge ball,” she said. “We are so grateful
to Fr. Sean’s leadership and the investment of the families of CtR who are making this Capital Campaign possible.”
Since it launched in May 2016, the campaign focuses on completing the parish’s master plan - meeting our needs while providing for the future with an enhanced youth suite, auditorium and gym. The spaces will provide opportunities for all ages to come together and encounter Christ.
We are so grateful for the many gifts our community has shared so far with the campaign - totaling $4,076,373. We also encourage ongoing financial support for this important time
in the life of the parish. For details, visit the
