Members of a choir depend on one another, therefore attendance is extremely important. Of course, we know there may be times when your child cannot attend a rehearsal or event. Our minimum attendance requirement is 75 percent of rehearsals and Sunday Masses.
If your child must be absent, please notify
Bridget Wenk, director of Music, as soon as you know about the absence. Each person is important to the choir!
Rehearsals and Masses
Please have your child in Room 111 on time for rehearsals at 6 p.m. and warm-ups at 10:15 a.m. Please see Bridget for special situations.
On rehearsal days and Sundays, parents need to drop off their children in Room 111 and then come inside to pick them up. No child will be allowed to leave the room without a parent. On Sundays, parents will pick children up in the choir area in the church. The choir will normally remain seated until the organist finishes playing the postlude.
Dress
For singing at Mass, Choristers will wear Chorister shirts - tucked in- with khaki pants or skirts. For special occasions such as Christmas and Easter, “Sunday best” clothing is appropriate. No shorts or jeans.
Help Needed for Special Events
Parents may be asked to volunteer for help with special events, like the Christmas party and the Pueri Cantores Festival, as well as others. Please be as generous as you can with your time. If everyone gives a little something, the work can be spread among all of the parents.
