Lector Formation

Lectors are scheduled for weekend masses approximately once a month, and are asked to proclaim the Word at week day Mass when in attendance. New lectors are required to attend an initial formation session, which includes practicing public proclamation from the ambo with feedback from fellow lectors.

Individuals interested in joining this ministry must be 18 years old or older, possess a strong and clear public speaking voice, and have a commitment to study scripture and practice public proclamation. Typical time commitments for this ministry include three to four hours of at-home preparation during the week leading up to the lector assignment.

Lector formation trainings are offered periodically at Church for both new and existing lectors. Our next formation training is scheduled for Sunday Sept. 26, 2021 from 1pm to 3pm in the main church. If you would like to attend, please rsvp using the following link: Lector Formation RSVP
