Handbells are a rich tradition in many churches that enhances the music with their mystical sounds. Bell ringing is intergenerational.
The Christ the Redeemer Ringers play for the 4th Sunday of the month, September-May, at the 5 p.m. mass and occasionally at the 11 a.m. mass. The group is also active with many community events: Dickens on the Strand, Houston Heritage Candlelighting Tour, FebFest, and Senior Center Programs.
The CtR Ringers are open to adults with a basic music-reading ability. Rehearsals are on Monday nights 7:30-9 p.m.
Christ the Redeemer Youth Ringers - If you are in high school and would like to learn to ring chimes and handbells, the Youth Ringers are for you. This group meets on Monday nights 6:30-7:30 p.m. Previous music experience is not required.
