We have poured the first two sections of the new parking area and driveway, and in the process we have relocated the required retention ponds and ditches to the back portion of our property. In addition we have finished storm water and fire line underground water main tie-ins.
Our contractor tells me, weather permitting, the new concrete will be cured and ready for our use for the Christmas liturgies. As we all know Christmas is one of our most crowded parking times at the parish and every effort is being taken to maximize the num-ber of parking spaces for Dec. 24-25. The existing asphalt lot, where the new building itself will be erected, will still be in use for Christmas, but it will be removed in preparation for the new foundation of the PLC beginning in January.
There will be some re-routing of the entrance to the back parking lot near the office building at that time, but we’ll have plenty of signage to direct you. In the end we will have a net gain in total number of parking spaces but there will be some minor delays and inconveniences as the construction proceeds. Please be patient. I promise you the end result will be very much worth it!
